Entire villages destroyed after earthquake – Morocco

More than 2,100 killed by earthquake near Marrakech, Morocco. In the mountain villages of Tafeghaghte, Amizmiz and Moulay Brahim, many houses were completely destroyed by the earthquake, September 10,  2023.

Selma holds her 6-year-old son Said in her tent in Amizmiz camp after the deadly earthquake in Amizmiz, Morocco, on September 12, 2023. The people in the makeshift tent village in Amizmiz lost everything in the once-in-a-century earthquake in Morocco (3,000 dead) and are literally left with the rubble of their existence. Their houses have collapsed and everything they own is buried under rubble and ash. This is also the case with Selma and Siad, who now live in one of the cramped tents.
